We all know about the tragic historic incident which happened in India, The Bhopal Gas tragedy, in the year 1984. This incident is the case study for management guys on what will happen if the GXp is not followed in industries. It is almost 25 years since this tragic even occured and now only the court has given the verdict, let aside the actual verdict given. For a historic tragedy if a court is taking such a long time to give verdict then if we think about other cases it gives us nightmare. I think the accused will not be punished in this birth.
Now coming to the actual verdict it is really a shocking thing that 2 years of imprisonment was given to the local managers of the company who were blamed for the catastrophic Bhopal disaster. Moreover they were granted bail within the same day. It is still more shocking that the principle accused of this incident "Warren Anderson" who was the chairman of Union Carbide when the incident took place, was not at all brought into the picture and was set free. After seeing the verdict of the case I was really shocked, Flabbergasted,stunned... you can fill in more related verbs. This brings shame on India for letting the person's, who were responsible for this historic indient, free without getting any punishment. This will bring a feeling for rest of them who commit such attoricities to keep doing their act and get escaped from the punishments. If the same thing has happened in any of the gulf countires the punishment would have been severe and it would have been given immediately, not like us giving lenient punishments that too after a long period of 25 years.
This clearly depicts that the supreme court is not concerned about the people who suffer and they are run by politics which helps the accused to escape without punishment. This is a act of shame by supreme court in giving such a lenient punishment that too after a long time.
If this is happening then please think what will be the future of India? Will there be justice given fairly to those who need it?
